Taxodium distichum 'Cascade Falls'
Is SFA Gardens home to the very first "Cascade Falls‟ treehenge in the USA? This unique clone of our southern USA native is planted into a 60‟ circle that was planted in 2009. Planted in the bottomland of the Pineywoods Native Plant Center and given a slight “lean” toward the center of the circle. The circle has become a topic of much interest with questions like, “what is it?” – “why is it in a circle?” – and “what does it mean?”. Pretty cool, huh?
