Farfugium japonicum
Large, round leaves are held by thick, sturdy stems. Plants do not run and form an arching, vase-like shape, making them an excellent ground cover when planted en masse. Bright yellow flowers resembling starry dandelions appear in late November and early December, providing a burst of color during a time where color is not common. Plants are evergreen except in temperatures below 30, but new growth is quick to emerge.
